TCM Diet Therapy

In Chinese medicine, food and medicine are considered one and the same. The right food can be the only medicine you need to maintain good health.

There are many different approaches to eating these days, but Chinese dietary therapy emphasizes the importance of balancing flavours and food properties for optimal health. This involves considering the five flavours - sour, bitter, sweet, acrid (spicy/pungent), and salty - which each affect different organs or systems in the body. Additionally, we also take into account the five temperatures of foods - hot, warm, neutral, cool, and cold.

We view food not only as a combination of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats but also as a means of balancing your body based on your specific constitution and condition. ‘One man’s meat is another man’s poison’ - Thomas Middleton

Each person has a unique balance, so there's no universal diet protocol. After evaluation, we'll customize your food list and preparation to meet your needs.
