Lineage and History

Shaolin Nei Jing Yi Zhi Chan Qi Gong is a rare and powerful form of Qigong that originates from the Shaolin Temple, developed by warrior monks to cultivate inner strength, focus, and healing. The name translates to “Internal Classic One Finger Zen Qigong,” highlighting its deep meditative roots and focus on precise energy cultivation.

Originally reserved for monks and martial artists, this form of Qigong is now available to anyone, but it used to be passed from one generation to another in secrecy, until one monk, Que Ah Shui (1919-1982), who had left the monastery in 1945 break the tradition and teach a lot of students and disciples.

Great-Grandmaster Que Ah Shui

Que Ah Shui was born in Suzhou Weitang, China, to a very poor family. He became a monk when he was 7 years old because his family could not afford to raise him. He became the 18th Generation Lineage Holder of the Shaolin Nei Jing Yi Zhi Chan Qi Gong, but because he was the only son in the family, he was asked by his parents to give up celibacy as a monk in order to continue the family name.

This is how Shaolin Nei Jin Yi Zhi Chan was made known to the world. Had it not been for Master Que Ah Shui who introduced Nei Jing Yi Zhi Chan to the world in the 60S, no one would have known that this top-notch Qi Gong existed.
